Uganda Parliamentary NCDs Forum pledges to support cancer – focused planning and advocacy

Cancer control community in Uganda was pleased to host as Chief Guest, Hon. Dr. Nicholas Kamara (seated 3rd right), Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament and Chairperson Parliamentary Non Communicable Diseases Forum at the joint commemoration of 2022 World Cancer Day (WCD) and International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD). Dr. Kamara, an experienced public health specialist pledged to support increased budgetary allocation and to mobilise other MPs to support the passing of national cancer control plan when presented for debate. He also expressed his support for national health insurance scheme, which, he says will help close the current gaps in the health sector.
