Uganda commemorates the 2023 National Cancer Survivors’ Day

National Cancer Survivors’ Month observed from June 1st to 30 serves as a meaningful tribute to cancer survivors.The gathering of cancer survivors ,advocates ,policy makers, and the wider public aimed at collectively honoring the resilience of those who have triumphed over cancer ,offer encouragement to individuals recently diagnosed, and raise awareness about the potential for successful outcomes through early detection and treatment is a very important activity in this period.

It is worth noting that the active involvement of survivors is instrumental in fostering hope , increasing awareness and advocating for improved services .With support from International Cancer Institute ,Kenya ,UCS collaborated with UNCDA and Sheema district to organize the National Survivors Day in Sheema district on June 22,2023.This event was held under the theme ,”Celebrating Life ,Creating Hope “.
