UCS is driven by volunteers who are committed to creating a viable, flourishing “Partnership and coordination environment”. Unless specifically stated, a “volunteer” is an individual who performs their specified job description willingly at the direction of UCS without expecting compensation. Without community support and active volunteerism, UCS would not be as successful as it is today and as such accepts and encourages volunteer involvement at all levels of the organization. To this end, UCS has put in place a system and detailed procedures for handling volunteer entry, stay and exit with terms and conditions which govern the relations between Volunteers and organisation. In line with this mission, Uganda Cancer Society seeks to involve volunteers to;
UCS seeks to build partnerships with organisations in the field of cancer to foster dialogue and information sharing, involve the community in advocating for and awareness raising on cancer and childhood cancer and also for sustained advocacy efforts.
