Dr. Samuel Guma MB.Ch.B, MPH, Msc Palliative Medicine
He is a Public Health and Palliative Medicine specialist with 18 years’ experience in providing comprehensive care for patients with HIV/AIDS and Cancer including palliative care. He has Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Makerere University Kampala, a Masters degree in Public Health at the University of Limpopo in South Africa and a Masters degree in Palliative Medicine from the Cardiff University (UK).
He is the Executive Director of Kawempe Home Care, a Non-Governmental organisation that provides comprehensive care for patients with Cancer and HIV/AIDS.
His areas of expertise include; Palliative care for patients with Cancer and HIV/AIDS, Program management, operational research, organisational governance, advocacy for improved health care, project monitoring and evaluation and leadership.
He is a former President of the Palliative Care Association of Uganda and is a member of the Rotary Club of Kampala Naguru.
He is passionate about increasing access to oncology and palliative care services for vulnerable patients with cancer.
